Having founded the business in 2008, Liam Patton is the Director of Mayfly. What started as a one-man operation has gradually expanded into a business that acts as the marketing department for independent businesses across the country. He believes in straightforward, no-nonsense conversations that lay out exactly what we can do for your business.

Liam’s background in Business Management, Google Paid Strategy and digital marketing has seen him managing campaigns for well-known companies such as Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Halewood International and Grant UK. Still, it’s the smaller, independent SMEs that he really enjoys working with.

Paul has worked with Mayfly since 2014. He has over 20 years of experience building websites for large-scale professional services and government sectors. Paul has developed fast, high-performing websites for legal and financial clients including solicitors, barristers, law firms, and accounting businesses.

In addition to developing new websites, Paul is a key player in the ongoing development and support of all our clients’ websites. Paul also frequently collaborates with our SEO team, bringing his technical insight and unique point of view to make impactful changes to user experience across the board.

John joined Mayfly in 2016 after studying English at the University of Liverpool. In 2020, he completed the Chartered Institute of Marketers’ Level 6 Digital Diploma in Marketing, spending a year researching and applying established marketing frameworks to digital practices.

John has worked across the full range of digital marketing channels with dozens of clients from a range of industries, including private schools, independent hospitals, and international franchise businesses.

His time with Mayfly has seen him writing content, managing Google Ads accounts, developing organic content strategies, and designing email marketing campaigns. Since 2023, he has managed the output of the agency, including overseeing web design projects and SEO strategy development.

Jeff joined Mayfly in 2023, after working as a freelancer since 2014. Taking the autodidactic approach, Jeff is a self-taught coder, building and managing websites over the years. He has grown into the marketing mindset, creating websites for small to medium-sized businesses and helping them achieve their marketing and business objectives.

Jeff has worked on quiz websites, websites for local tradespeoples, golf websites, and coding tutorial sites. He always has a project on the go, building online properties and experimenting with new techniques he learns on SEO community forums.

Louise joined us as a Social Media Executive in 2024, after working behind the scenes at Mayfly since 2022.

Louise is a motivated, experienced designer and passionate about the work she creates. She has a wealth of knowledge in the design industry after having a career for over 18 years as a swimwear and print designer working with several international e-commerce fashion brands.

In 2020, Louise had a lockdown project and set up her own small independent business, Joy Twenty-Six. Still in its infancy, her range of sustainable knitwear & accessories has acquired a very loyal client base both locally & nationally.

Rob joined Mayfly in 2024, having worked as a copywriter in both freelance and agency capacities since the start of 2021. This was following the completion of the NCTJ level 3 diploma, giving him the industry standard qualification for journalistic writing.

From there, his interest in digital marketing and SEO began. With a strong foundation in the written word, he’s gained knowledge of the core principles behind search engine optimisation while on the job. He’s keen to expand on this by putting more theory into practice and completing additional courses where possible.

Rob’s experience has seen him write for companies across a vast range of industries, from online butchers to manufacturers, bridesmaid dress sellers, and much more in between. His work has included blogs, landing pages, brochures, whitepapers, emails, press releases, and social posts.

Akosua joined Mayfly in 2025 after nine years driving growth for luxury travel, hospitality and e-commerce brands. A Biomedical Science graduate of King’s College London, she completed the CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing in 2025 – a year-long, rigorous programme that honed her strategic planning and data-driven approach.

Before Mayfly, Akosua served as Head of Marketing at Forge Holiday Group, managing multi-million-pound budgets and leading SEO, PPC, CRM and brand-development initiatives to boost customer acquisition and retention. She also founded Kokoa Eco Beauty—the UK’s first vegan beauty spa and an award-winning skincare line sold in 12 countries—building its premium storytelling and customer experience from the ground up.

At Mayfly, she combines entrepreneurial creativity with performance-led marketing, focusing on paid media strategy, conversion-rate optimisation, brand positioning and competitor analysis to drive holistic client growth.

Kirsty joined Mayfly in 2025, bringing a passion for science communication and storytelling. She holds an MSc in Science Communication from the University of Sheffield—where she honed her skills in crafting articles, infographics, podcasts, and interactive displays—and a BSc in Zoology from Cardiff University.

Before Mayfly, Kirsty worked on freelance projects, where she translated complex research into engaging content such as articles and scripts, while also working as Bar Operations Manager at Hope Street Hotel. Prior to this, at Castle Marketing Agency, she produced content daily for clients ranging from law firms to investors.

At Mayfly, Kirsty channels her versatile background into crafting compelling content for clients in a wide range of niches—developing brand stories, SEO-optimised articles, infographics, and multimedia pieces that inform, inspire, and drive engagement.
