Job Description

We are looking for a talented SEO professional to execute all search engine optimisation activities for our diverse range of clients. This role would be split between office and home-working.

You will be responsible for executing SEO activities such as keyword research, on-page optimisation and website auditing to increase client visibility, traffic and conversions on all major search engines.

As part of this role, you will be working directly with our SEO Manager, Digital Marketer and Developer, on a broad range of clients on their SEO requirements.

Below is a full overview of your key duties and responsibilities;

  • Ensure SEO processes are followed and any barriers and issues are calmly resolved & all tasks are delivered to schedule.
  • Conduct technical site audits on a regular basis and have strong knowledge of critiquing client websites.
  • Develop on-page and off-page SEO strategies in line with best practice to drive organic traffic on the major search engines.
  • Conduct backlink audits, manage backlink outreach and support the implementation of link-building strategies for our clients. (Off-page is not our primary focus but may be required from time to time)
  • Conduct on-site analysis and keyword research to identify target keywords with potential growth opportunity and optimise where possible.
  • Review our competitors and conduct gap analysis to identify missed opportunities.
  • Craft well-written, SEO optimised content either completely from scratch or optimising what is already there in line with best practice (depending on your content writing abilities).
  • Support with analysing technical issues across the site and brief those to our in-house web developer and SEO Manager.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the Google algorithms, the core updates and potential penalties.
  • Navigate your way around SEO tools and software such as SEMRush, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog and more.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of on-page, off-page and technical SEO
  • Play an active role in defining SEO best practice and scalable processes
  • Manage a small number of SEO clients from start to finish as well as support the SEO Manager with other client SEO requirements.
  • Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimisation.
  • Optimise technical and on-page content to improve search engine rankings.
  • Work with the SEO Manager, content writer and client-side marketing personnel to drive SEO in content creation.
  • Research and implement search engine optimisation recommendations.
  • Work with the developer to ensure SEO best practices are properly implemented on all websites we build, or with existing client sites.
  • Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of proven SEO experience.
  • Solid understanding of SEO, inbound marketing and online customer acquisition.
  • Strong experience in research, analysis, testing, and reporting.
  • In-depth experience with website analytics and SEO tools (e.g, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMRush, Screaming Frog).
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of search engine ranking factors and search engine algorithms.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO.
  • Extremely organised and able to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and written skills.
  • Not afraid of learning new things and working hard.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing a small portfolio of clients.
  • Confident managing your own schedule and time management.
  • A good standard of written and spoken English.
  • This is not a content writing role, so content writing skills are not essential, though would most definitely be a bonus, since most of our clients require content creation support. Although the focus is on executing SEO, if the applicant has the ability to copywrite, some work of this nature be assigned in addition to regular SEO tasks. In this case, you would be providing support to our main in-house copywriter.
